Capital Credit Union is holding our annual Scholarship Draw this October in which several lucky student members will win a scholarship towards the cost of their degree. The aim of the scholarships is to help fund the cost of college for students and support our local community.
Applications are open to student members (including mature students) who are entering full-time further education and are members of Capital Credit Union.
The closing date for receipt of entries is the 14th of October.
Even if you’re not one of the lucky winners, Capital Credit Union can still help fund your education with our low rate Student Loans. Ask at any of our offices for details.

Checklist
- Complete application form.
- Evidence of attendance in a full-time course must be provided with the entry form (letter from your college confirming you are a student on the above course, or an acceptance letter confirming you have been accepted onto the above course).
- If you’re not already a member, you must open a Capital Credit Union account.
- Return the form and proof of acceptance to any of our offices by 14th October.
Rules of the Scholarship Draw
There are two types of Scholarships:
- Students who are studying in a 1 or 2 year course, which is ranked NFQ Level 5 or 6 (e.g. PLC/College of Further Education) can apply for the €500 Scholarship.
- Students who are studying in a course of at least 3 years, which is ranked Level 7 or higher (e.g. IT, Bachelors, PHD) can apply for the €1,500 Scholarship.
- Those studying a 1 or 2 year Masters can also apply for the €1,500 Scholarship.
- Neither of these scholarships are available to courses not based in the ROI, although students who are studying abroad for a semester on Erasmus can apply.
- Applications are only open to members of Capital Credit Union and are limited to one entry per student.
- Evidence of attendance in your current year of study in a full-time course must be provided with the entry form. Any entry forms not accompanied by proof of acceptance or from non-members of Capital Credit Union will be disregarded.
- The course must be CAO or QQI approved and full-time. 48. The decision of the Board of Directors is final.
- The closing date for receipt of entries is 14th October. 610..The draw and presentation evening will take place on the first week of November.
- The winning students must attend (or be represented) at the presentation evening.

A €3,000 loan repaid over 12 months will cost just €260 per month with a total repayment of just €3,110 over the year.
